Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR): is a type of thyristor made up of four layers of semiconductor material with PNPN or NPNP structure.

The thyristor term comes from a combination of “thyratron” and “transistor”.

This equipment is normally robust and with limited capacities.

Pulse width modulation (PWM): The PWM of a signal or power source is a technique in which the duty cycle of a periodic signal is modified (e.g. sinusoidal or square signal), either to transmit information through a communication channel or to control the amount of energy being sent to a load.

The rectifier is the essential component of any backup system that uses batteries and depending on its technology we can have different options available for control and monitoring.
